![]() ![]() are all using Splashtop today to enable work-from-home. I do know many Hollywood studios, architecture firms, game development houses, TV broadcasts, etc. we hope to move much faster than all the bigger companies. Splashtop continually improve and enhance our solution. If PCoIP cannot take advantages of NVIDIA/ AMD / Intel hardware assist technique, Splashtop should be higher performance than pure-software based PCoIP implementation. I don't know the exact performance of a pure software-based PCoIP solution when remoting into a standard workstation without Teradici hardware inside. ![]() PCoIP performance is amazing if you use Teradici hardware at the servers (tend to be VDI oriented usage model). My understanding is PCoIP came from a hardware company called Teradici and they licensed the protocol to VMware. ![]() What I can say is that Splashtop works closely with NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel to optimize for hardware acceleration (encode and decode) so reducing CPU utilization (allowing more headroom to run other intensive applications) and as we capture display in video RAM framebuffer directly, we reduce the latency significiantly. My understanding is performance is more impacted by what optimization vendor does in screen capturing, encoding, and then decoding technologies to ensure low latency / high frame rate / different resolution & also based on available bandwidth (4G, wifi, GB ethernet), and the various tradeoffs depending on usage models (ie., graphics designer might need higher resolution over frame-rate if people are playing 3D games, frame-rate & latency are more important than resolution.). Same question for Maxime regarding Wayk Now? Opens a new windowĭon't hesitate if you have any questions! ThanksĬurrently how does Splashtop compare to protocols like PCoIP, or HP RGS or TGX? Here's the link for more information about this deal. Will automatically be granted an unlimited number of Wayk Now Enterprise subscriptions to connected clients, completely free, for the next 6 months. With features like unattended access, file transfer and more, it's a very great team work tool.ĭepending on the number of users you have, we announced that with every private Wayk Den Opens a new window deployments (our centralized server for Wayk Now that can be hosted on-premises or self-hosted within your cloud infrastructure) No installation is needed, so it's easier for your users. Wayk Now is an easy to use, flexible and lightweight remote desktop solution. If they are doing stuff on mainly 3D static then literally what they need is RDP or remote software (splashtop or teamviewer) else they may need to use PCoIP for motion picture (the refresh rates are much better, including more screens etc).įor a smooth and easy experience for your users, Wayk Now Opens a new window would be a great secure and efficient solution for you, mostly if your users will have access via their home pc's. Then does the users need WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) ? If they are connecting to local workstations (should get Mobile Workstations unless they need extreme performance), then literally all the processing is done on the workstations and all use user will get is "screenshots" at a fast refresh rates (unless they know how to set up PCoIP). I am looking for the best connection protocol or software for this type of use case. They would be connecting from their home pc's which might and might not have decent gpu's. They will be connecting to their workstations in the office which are very high end with graphics cards. I am looking for a smooth experience for the users who are working from home. ![]()
